The practice was established by Robin Sutherland in 2011 before adopting the name Sutherland & Co in 2015 to better reflect the collective efforts of all team members and collaborators.
We are RIBA and RIAS chartered architects, offering full architectural and project coordination services from briefing and concept design through to overseeing the delivery of projects on site.
We’re good listeners. We approach each project without preconceived agenda, seeking to absorb and understand its specific circumstances before formulating a design response.
We don’t like to be pigeonholed by narrow specialisations and actively seek out a variety of project types for all kinds of clients including large and small businesses, charities, community groups and private individuals.
If there is a common thread to our work, it is in our drive to realise the full potential of every project by creating transformative buildings that provide enduring value to clients and end users.
We’re a ‘young’ practice but as individuals we bring a wealth of prior experience working together with some of Scotland’s best regarded established architectural practices on projects of all scales, including major capital projects and urban master plans. Many of our past projects have attracted considerable peer recognition and we are busy establishing a strong track record of our own.
